An old, but beautiful, video, raising awareness of The Black Dog, ie. depression. Came across this in my Clinical lecture a couple of days ago, and just thought I’d share.
People often have misconceptions about depression – even if those are not so much negative stigma – that it is a continuous, ongoing illness, rather than its true episodic form. Sometimes people with depression don’t truly recover, but they do improve, if only for a while. Videos like these by the World Health Organisation are so genuine and useful to see beyond the stereotypes and the public assumptions.
I’ll leave you with this thought from the video: No matter how bad it gets, if you make the right steps, black dog days do pass.
