As I was listening to Take Two on the radio yesterday on my way back from lunchtime Eucharistic Adoration, they were discussing politics and the shame that formerly strong Catholic communities were abandoning Christ to embraceso-called gay marriage and abortion.

It lead me to reflect on the direction our nation is heading, and for a moment, it practically overwhelmed and engulfed my soul. But it should not. First off, our nation is not heading towards sin and destruction, it has arrived. There aren’t just rumors of vice in dark back alleys and through doors with peepholes and secret knocks. Vice is flaunted and celebrated in the streets, on the airwaves, and across the digital mediums. There is no secret, no shame, no apology. We have arrived.
